Stefan Ekberg (b. January 21st 1972, Motala, Sweden 

The North Star made a huge difference to the Rockets’ title run-in after arriving at Rye in August following injuries to Stuart Robson and original replacements Ray Morton and Robbie Kessler. He made an immediate impact with 11 points in his debut at Stoke, was unbeaten in his home debut against the Isle of Wight, and rarely looked back, averaging out at 9 a match and posting paid 23 across the two legs of the Championship Final. The good news for Rye is that he’s signed on for a full campaign in 2008.
